Representative of “Adana” Armenian National-Cultural Community of Russia visits the RA Ministry of Diaspora
On November 8, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received President of the Women’s Council of the newly established “Adana” Armenian National-Cultural Community of the Domodedovo region of the Russian Federation Hripsime Hambaryan.
Greeting the guest, Minister Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the newly established community’s initiatives for the preservation of the Armenian identity, as well as its organization and consolidation and particularly stated the following: “I am glad that you are actively preserving the Armenian identity within your community, and evidence of that is the newly opened Armenian Sunday school, which is seeing a rise in the number of students every Sunday. The Ministry of Diaspora will be glad to provide you with as many additional textbooks as you need. Armenian children and young people need to learn and speak Armenian. Armenian churches and schools must work in that direction. Preservation of the Armenian identity and language is important. Language is the backbone of the Armenian identity. Children need to learn Armenian through songs, dances and games. This will help not only preserve the language and national traditions, but also create an Armenian environment.”
Hripsime Hambaryan expressed gratitude for the cordial reception, talked about the community’s activities, achievements and upcoming programs and stressed the following: “It is my pleasure to invite you to the solemn opening ceremony of the “Adana” Armenian National-Cultural Community and the exhibition entitled “Armenia: Love from First Sight”. The Community has a long program of events, and it is important for us to have Armenia’s representatives attend and participate in those ceremonies.”
The sides discussed further engagement of the Armenian community in the Ministry’s programs, as well as future cooperation and organizational issues.
