Artem Karayan: “Carrying out pro-Armenian activities is one of the major goals of Armenian journalists”

During the sessions of the 8th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists (organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora with the title “Armenian Statehood: Axis of Unity”) in Yerevan, there were interesting speeches and practical proposals and discussions that will surely serve as a basis for the future forums. Hayen Aysor presents excerpts from the speeches that the participants gave.

Zaven Grigorian, Greece, editor of Nor Ashkharh newspaper, Topic: On the Occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Armenia and Artsakh: The Native Land, the Homeland and Statehood”

-The topic of my speech is our native land, the Homeland and Armenian statehood. This is what I am concerned about. Land is the main condition for the survival of a nation, the soul of a nation, the language, culture and civilization of a nation. When we say “native land”, we must understand and consider Armenians who are directly linked to the land and Armenian culture. It is the land on which people live. The land is the language and civilization of a nation. The national image of a nation is important for the formation and survival of a nation and the homeland. For centuries, the homeland and the Armenian nation have faced many dangers, but we Armenians have not been able to realize that what we lack is a unified, collective and wise philosophy so that we can survive and become strong. We failed to benefit from the lessons in history and learn from our share of catastrophes. It is sad. An Armenian upbringing needs to be in our focus. It is the first precondition for the survival and advancement of the Homeland.

Artem Karayan, Ukraine, Editor-in-Chief of Haikakan Lratu journal, Topic: “The Experience of Haikakan Lratu journal in cooperating with Diaspora Armenian organizations”

-We currently work with the top Armenian journalists in Ukraine who are correspondents for all-Union mass media outlets. We have established an Armenian Media Association, the members of which are the representatives of Aragats newspaper, Kanch newspaper of Kharkov, Krunk newspaper of Dnepropetrovsk, Vernatun of Odessa and the Nreni official newspaper of the local Women’s Union, etc. I will not be addressing the ten online resources that collaborate with Armenia’s media outlets. Our Haikakan Lratu collaborates with Armenia’s media outlets in a very effective manner in terms of exchanging materials. The Facebook page of our journal has about 10,000 visitors. We carry out pro-Armenian activities, and I think this is exactly one of the major goals of Armenian journalists.
