Armenian PM: “Our resource is the Armenian, regardless of whether he lives in Armenia or abroad”

RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received the participants of the 8th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists, which is being held under the title “Armenian Statehood: Axis of Unity”.

Greeting the Armenian journalists, the head government attached importance to the conduct of such forums that promote the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations, the discussion on current issues and the consolidation of the potential of Armenian media outlets.

As reported the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister addressed the program of the Government and stated that there is great emphasis on the Diaspora and the use of its potential. Talking about Armenia-Diaspora relations, Karen Karapetyan particularly stated the following: “Generally speaking, I believe the separation is artificial because Armenia and the Diaspora can’t exist without each other. Our potential, our capital and our resource is the Armenian, regardless of whether he lives in Armenia or abroad. I am more than certain that the Armenians of the Diaspora will always feel safe and positioned, if we have a strong Armenia, and I am certain that Armenia will have a harder time achieving its dreams without using the potential of the Armenian Diaspora. In that regard, I am glad to meet with you because we can conditionally say that you are the channel, the bridge that unites all Armenians around the world.” Karen Karapetyan attached importance to the activities of Armenian mass media outlets abroad, which present the events taking place in Armenia and in the Armenian Diaspora properly and in a timely manner and transmit the signals that the Homeland and the Diaspora want to convey to each other.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister answered several questions from the Diaspora Armenian journalists that were related to the priority actions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the reforms that will be implemented in different spheres of the country, the preservation of the Armenian identity and other issues.

The 8th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists has gathered the heads of 65 media outlets. The goal of the forum is to expand and improve the pan-Armenian field of information and use the potential of the Armenian media effectively for the development of Armenia, increase in the international reputation of the Republic of Armenia, the preservation of the Armenian identity abroad and the solution to pan-Armenian issues.
