RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received President of the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO Lena Haladjian.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan cordially greeted the guest and expressed gratitude for the effective cooperation, as well as the joint efforts that had been made for the integration of Syrian-Armenians in Armenia and the solution to their key issues over the past five years.

The Minister awarded Lena Haladjian with the Commemorative Medal of the Speaker of the RA National Assembly for the great efforts that she has made for the integration of Syrian-Armenians in Armenia, for being of principle and consistent with the implementation of several charitable, humanitarian, social, cultural and other programs and for her dedication.

Congratulating Lena Haladjian on receiving the high award, the Minister stated that Lena Haladjian had served as the advisor to the Minister of Diaspora in Aleppo prior to her move to the Homeland and had been an active member of the Armenian community. “I admire the personal attributes of Mrs. Haladjian. Being a mother of four, she manages to spend most of her time to help her compatriots in dire conditions, heal their pain and solve their problems, creating a warm and friendly environment within her organization. Lena Haladjian’s Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO has properly and faithfully carried out about 90 various kinds of programs and projects because nobody knows and understands Syrian-Armenians so well and deeply like her. What is more amazing and admirable is Mrs. Haladjian’s cooperation with the Staff of the Ministry of Diaspora and the representatives of international and pan-Armenian organizations and, most importantly, the special love and connection that she has for the Homeland and conveys to all Syrian-Armenians,” the Minister of Diaspora added.

Expressing gratitude for the high award, Lena Haladjian said the following: “I graduated from the State University of the Arts and Humanities of Aleppo, studied journalism at the Los Angeles Pierce College and have held various offices within community organizations, but the past five years of cooperation with the Ministry of Diaspora and especially the Minister have helped me learn a lot, acquire skills and gain experience.

I think the important thing is what you do and our mission to help our compatriots in dire conditions and mitigate their worries, but it is also nice to be appreciated. I would like to thank the Speaker of the RA National Assembly for appreciating my efforts. This award binds me to work harder to help Syrian-Armenians become integrated in Armenia.”
