The events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence continue in Los Angeles. Glendale City Council opened a photo exhibition called “The Newly Independent State of the Centuries-Old Armenia”, which was held through the combined efforts of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia and Glendale City Council, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor.
The 150 photos portray the major events that have taken place in the public, cultural, economic, political and scientific sectors of Armenia between the years 1990 and 2016.
During the opening ceremony, the photographer, Director of “Menk” (Us) Foundation for the Popularization of State and National Assets Pavel Sargsyan stated that the goal of the exhibition was to present Armenians and foreigners to the road that the Republic of Armenia took to independence.
In her speech, Consul of the Republic of Armenia Armella Shakaryan emphasized that the Republic of Armenia had managed to solve many problems and achieve successes thanks to the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triumvirate over the past 25 years of Armenia’s Independence.
Glendale City Councilman Vartan Gharpetian attached importance to the opening of such an exhibition in Glendale since it provides the multi-ethnic population of the city with another opportunity to become familiar with the modern history of Armenia and the Armenian community through photos.
During the event, Armella Shakaryan granted a certificate of appreciation to Vartan Gharpetian for his collaboration with the Consulate and for providing assistance in organizing such an event.
