German MP reaffirms position on Armenian Genocide recognition

The Members of the German Bundestag reaffirmed their position on recognition of the Armenian Genocide before visiting the military base in Injirlik.

In an interview with the German Zeit Online, member of the delegation, German MP Karl Lamers talked about the Armenian Genocide resolution and added that the Bundestag’s decision was not binding.

“The federal parliament is entitled to express its views on all major issues. We did it and support it,” Lamers said, according to Artsakhpress, emphasizing that the visit of the Members of Parliament to the military base in Injirlik is important from the perspective of normalization of relations between the two parties.
