Minister Nalbandyan receives the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee co-chairs

On October 30, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan received co-chair of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, Deputy of the European Parliament Milan Cabrnoch, who is in Armenia to participate in the session of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee’s bureau. Co-Chair of the Armenian side of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, NA Deputy Samvel Farmanyan also attended the meeting.

Greeting the guest, Minister Nalbandyan attached importance to further development and deepening of relations with the European Union in which the inter-parliamentary cooperation plays a significant role.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the Resolution on the European Neighborhood Policy adopted by the European Parliament last week. In this context, Edward Nalbandyan mentioned that the formulations in relation to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict contradict the European Union’s official position and the approaches of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs with the international mandate for the intermediary mission in the peace process. The minister added that the authors of such formulations must realize that they bear responsibility for the negative impact that those formulations may have on the process and for the harm that they may cause to the co-chairs’ efforts for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

During the conversation, the sides touched upon future steps and programs for partnership, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
