Six students of “Argisht” Armenian one-day school are impressed with the “Ari Tun” Program and the “Diaspora” Summer School Program

Six students of the “Argisht” Armenian one-day school of Ivantenka city, which is located in the Pushkino district near Moscow, participated in the 4th stage of the 2016 “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, and another two students participated in the Accelerated Armenian Language Courses (Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian) that were part of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

The students of the Armenian one-day school have been participating in the “Ari Tun” Program for the past two weeks, which have turned into a celebration. They already can’t wait for their next summer vacation so that they can participate in the program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

The girls said the following about the program:

“I found out about the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora at “Argisht” Armenian one-day school. When I heard about the “Ari Tun” Program, I got very excited. I wasn’t able to participate last year. Most of us were visiting Armenia for the first time, and we were very excited and nervous at the same time. I was impatiently waiting for the fourth stage of the “Ari Tun” Program to begin. I couldn’t even sleep at night,” Marine Hovhannisyan said with excitement.

“The days at the camp were especially unforgettable. During the excursions, we visited churches and monuments, as well as historic places. While dining, we would perform Armenian patriotic songs and dances. I would feel Armenian deep down inside. Our Armenia history teacher, Mrs. Vratsyan had told us about those churches, monuments and historic Armenian sites and had shown them to us, but I saw it with my own two eyes, and it was indescribable,” Tamara Nersisyan said.

“I am very happy that I participated in this program because it helped us stay truer to our national identity and keep the honor of the Armenian nation higher abroad,” Marine Davtyan said.

“I participated in the Accelerated Armenian Language Courses that were part of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program. My friends had told me that it was a great instructive program and how interesting it was. This year, I decided to participate and personally experience what my friends had been talking about. Those few weeks went by very quickly. They were fun and interesting. Thanks to the Ministry of Diaspora, we are able to not only recognize the homeland, but also improve our knowledge. During the closing ceremony of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program, I performed my solo dance that was different in that this time my audience was the staff of the Ministry of Diaspora and young Diasporan Armenians who will help me always remember the program and the emotions that were connected to my identity and my homeland,” Lilit Melikyan said.

The administration and students of the “Argisht” Armenian one-day school and the parents express their gratitude to RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and the staff of the Ministry for establishing and strengthening the strong ties between the Homeland and the Diaspora.
