Doves for peace released towards Mount Ararat

The Pope spent his last hours in Armenia at Khor Virap Monastery where a lantern dedicated to the Pope was lit to the sounds of a prayer. Afterwards, the pontiffs of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Roman Catholic Church headed towards the observation deck looking towards the Biblical Mount Ararat. Looking at Mount Ararat, they talked and acknowledged the mountain as the standing evidence that God is the salvation and hope of the Armenian nation.

One of the most sensational scenes of the pilgrimage was the moment the two pontiffs released doves towards Mount Ararat as a sign of peace.

This marked the end of Pope Francis’s three-day pilgrimage to the first Christian nation. After a short while, he will leave for Zvarnots International Airport from where he will depart for the Vatican, writes yerkir.am.
