The youth to be “praying” for peace in the Near East along with the Pope (Prayer for the UAE)
On June 25, Maria and Kristapor Habibian, who live in the United Arab , will participate in the Ecumenical Ceremony of Pope Francis at Republic Square on June 25. With soil brought from their birthplace, they will join the Pope as he says a prayer for the establishment of peace in the stormy region.
We present Hayern Aysor’s short coverage of the youth living in the UAE.
Maria and Kristapor Habibian are siblings and live in the United Arab Emirates.
Maria and Kristapor spend most of the year in Lebanon since they moved to Lebanon to receive an education in 2012. During their summer vacations, Maria, Kristapor and their mother travel to the UAE to visit their father, who is a lawyer.
This summer will become a summer to remember since they will be participating in the meeting with Pope Francis in the Homeland. They are also very nervous and feel very responsible because they are going to be praying to God for peace with everyone.
They are impatiently waiting to meet with the Pope so that they can transfer the soil that they have brought from Dubai.
Maria and Kristapor told Hayern Aysor that their ancestors were from the city of Adana of Western Armenia and that they had also experienced the horror of the Armenian Genocide.
Escaping the Turks’ massacres, the grandfather of Maria and Kristapor left for Lebanon where he started selling fruits and started a family.
