Komitas Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora granted to ballet master Gagik Karapetyan
On June 19, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall hosted a concert dedicated to the 65th birth anniversary and to the 45th anniversary of the career of well-known ballet master, Merited Cultural Figure of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Karapetyan. Among the participants of the event was RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan.
Gagik Karapetyan was granted the Komitas Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora as a token of high appreciation of his contributions to the preservation and dissemination of Armenian cultural values in the Diaspora, his career and high level of performance, as well as his notable contributions to the strengthening of cultural ties between Armenia and the Diaspora.
Gagik Karapetyan has given concerts in 30 countries around the world and has participated in all-Union and international festivals. His choreographed dances include the “Awakening”, “Motherhood”, “Artsakh”, “Dance of Princes”, “Ethnographic Dances”, “Kochari”, “Fighting Dance”, “Birth of Vahagn” and other dances.
Karapetyan has collaborated with the AGBU Antranik Dance Company of New York, Sardarabad Dance Company of Aleppo, Gayane Dance Company of Buenos Aires and the Hayordik Dance Company of Moscow and the Ararat Cultural Center of Tehran, choreographing several dances and disseminating and developing Armenian dance in the Diaspora.
