2016 “Ari Tun” Program participant: “I can’t wait until we visit Lake Sevan”
Frunzik Ayvazyan, 14, lives in Los Angeles, California. He was 8 years old when he first visited Armenia to see his grandmother. Frunzik found out about the “Ari Tun” Program from his relative, Deputy Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Melikyan, who advised him to participate in the program.
In an interview with Hayern Aysor, Frunzik Ayvazyan said his parents don’t spare any effort to provide him and his sister with an Armenian upbringing, helping keep them aware of Armenia and feel patriotic. Frunzik hopes he spends a good time in Armenia, unforgettable days during the camping event and leaves Armenia “armed” with impressions.
“I really want to make new friends and keep in touch with them later. I want to discover the historic and cultural sites in Armenia up close.
What is also very important for me is that I am going to participate in the Armenian language courses that are held through the program. I will not only improve my knowledge of Armenian, but also receive new information about the lives of Armenian poets and other great Armenians,” Frunzik said, adding that he was impatiently waiting for the visit to Lake Sevan so that he can swim in the blue lake and climb to the peninsula and light a candle in the monastery of Sevan.
