As reported Hayern Aysor, keghart.com writes the following:
A couple of weeks ago, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan announced that 24 funds had been opened abroad and made a call to all Armenians of the Diaspora. After that, her advisor Khoren Mardoyan presented a plan for small and large campaigns to support the Armenians of Artsakh.
Former citizens of Armenia and Artsakh and current citizens of Toronto also organized a similar campaign. Among them is Khoren Mardoyan, who is the Advisor of the Minister of Diaspora in Canada. When the Azerbaijani army attacked in April, Mardoyan contacted all of his friends and suggested that they help the armed forces of Artsakh.
He had meetings with the members of the Armenian community, formed a group of men between the ages of 25 and 45 and decided that the soldiers of Artsakh would need night vision devices, thermal imaging cameras and binoculars. After campaigning for several weeks, the group opened a fund to obtain four night vision devices, a thermal imaging camera and two good binoculars and sent all that to Artsakh.
Mardoyan stated that the donations continue. When he visits Armenia this month, he will allocate more funds to the families of deceased soldiers. He will visit Artsakh and personally hand the thermal imaging camera, the binoculars and night vision devices to the border guards.
Providing funds to the families is only the first step. The second step will be to increase the number of donations being sent to the families of the victims.
Every month, the members of the group will donate $20-30 dollars and support the families whose relatives are on the . The fund will be open for a year.
Mardoyan stated that Artsakh pertains to not only Armenia, but also the entire Armenian nation.
People who would like to participate in the fundraiser may so do by contacting Khoren Mardoyan with the phone number of e-mail listed below.
