Cross-stone dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide unveiled in the Polish city of Polanuv

On June 4, an Armenian cross-stone dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was unveiled and consecrated during a grand ceremony held in the yard of Holy Mountain Church, which is located not far from Polanuv, Poland, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among the participants of the event were Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan, representatives of the local authorities of Polanuv and Koshalin, pastor of the Polish-Armenians of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church, Friar Tatchat Tsaturyan, as well as representatives of the Catholic Church of Poland and members of the Armenian community of Poland.

In his speech at the event, RA Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan particularly attached importance to the fact that the cross-stone dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was being placed near one of the shrines in Poland. According to Ghazaryan, besides being a symbol of remembrance, the cross-stone also symbolizes the centuries-old friendship and solidarity between the Armenians and the Poles that are based on Christian values.

On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Poland, Ambassador Ghazaryan granted certificates of appreciation to the creator of the cross-stone Grigor Aslanyan, spiritual servant of the Holy Mountain Church Janus Jendrisek and organizer of the initiative Marek Mazhik for their support and notable contribution to the preparation and placement of the cross-stone.

Afterwards, the cross-stone was consecrated by pastor of the Polish-Armenians of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church, Frair Tatchat Tsaturyan, after which the gathered said an ecumenical prayer with clergymen of the Polish Catholic Church.
