Hranush Hakobyan: “There are 24 funds that have been established to help Artsakh”

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and members of the local chapters of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund today held a meeting at the RA Ministry of Diaspora. During the meeting, Minister Hranush Hakobyan talked about the events and initiatives that have been held in the Diaspora and the assistance that has been provided since the four-day war in Artsakh.

As reported Hayern Aysor, before the meeting, Hranush Hakobyan answered journalists’ questions and presented the results and priorities of the cooperation between the Ministry of Diaspora and the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. “The meetings with the local chapters of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund have already become traditional meetings. Today we will try to recap the activities that we have carried out over the past year and answer questions on how favorable have the activities of the Armenian Diaspora and the Fund been, how the Armenian Diaspora has met its objectives and what the major issues of Armenia are today,” the Minister of Diaspora said, setting aside the two areas that have gathered all Armenians together, that is, the issues facing Syrian-Armenians and the issue on providing assistance to Artsakh.

“After the four-day war, Armenians of the Diaspora quickly rose to their feet. We sent 4,500 letters to all Diaspora Armenian organizations, asking them to organize protests and demonstrations within their respective communities and do everything possible to stop the war. Diaspora Armenians also started organizing several fundraisers. Today, there are 24 funds that have been established to help Artsakh. Time will tell how the funds will use the donations. It is up to them to decide. However, one thing is clear. Besides the fact that the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund exists, there are also other funds at this moment of outburst. Some of these funds have already agreed to carry out their programs and projects with Hayastan All-Armenian Fund,” the Minister said.

The Minister of Diaspora also stated that members of the Fund’s local chapters are introduced to the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and, if possible, develop plans for cooperation during these meetings. “Through their activities, they work with the Diaspora. Therefore, they can become the advocates of our programs in the Diaspora,” Hranush Hakobyan stated as she talked about the activities of the Fund’s local chapters in different countries around the world.
