Argentine-Armenians had meetings devoted to Artsakh issue

Spiritual pastor of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Buenos Aires, Father Archimandrite Maghakia Amirian has written the following to Hayern Aysor:

“These days, a military situation has been created in the Nagorno-Karabakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone again, and all Armenians have stood up to defend the right of their compatriots of Artsakh to live freely and independently.

The Armenian community of Argentina has also put in all its efforts to raise the issue among political circles so that the latter exert pressure to put an end to Azerbaijan’s policy of dictatorship. Under the leadership of His Eminence, Archbishop Gissak Mouradian, the delegation of members of the Armenian community of Argentina first had a meeting with Foreign Relations Minister of Argentina Susana Malcorra and briefed her on the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, particularly stating that Azerbaijan has brutally killed children and peaceful civilians. The Minister expressed willingness to assist in the maintenance of the ceasefire, as well as inform the Representative of Argentina to the United Nations and Argentina’s Ambassador to Armenia about the issue. Argentina’s Ambassador to Armenia has already had a meeting with RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan.

Afterwards, the Argentine-Armenian delegates also had a meeting with Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Argentina Victor Koronely, who expressed his concern about the fact that Azerbaijan had used inadmissible weapons obtained from Russia against peaceful civilians. Touching upon the problem, the Ambassador stated that maintenance of the ceasefire is an important matter for Russia since it has fraternal relations with the Armenian community of Argentina and the Armenian people and promised to transmit his concerns to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Alongside the meetings, hundreds of Argentine-Armenians organized a protest and marched to the Embassy of Azerbaijan, affirming the determination and the centuries-old truth that Artsakh has been and will continue to be an inseparable part of Armenia and that they will do everything they can to support their brothers and sisters. At the end, a letter was submitted to the Embassy of Azerbaijan on behalf of the community.
