School of Aknalitch hosts discussion on Krikor Zohrab’s novel “Zabugho”

Western Armenian literature is one of the brilliant pages in the history of Armenian literature that Armenian youth don’t know much about. Most Western Armenian writers can serve as a guide for the generations with not only their works, but also their lives. The works of Western Armenian writers are valuable. They express deep concerns about the state of the Armenian people. Zohrab the writer conveyed new air and energy to the Western Armenian literary movement, reports Armenian language teacher of the school of Aknalitch D. Kirakosyan.

On March 18, the middle school of Aknalitch hosted a discussion on Zohrab’s novel “Zabugho”. The discussion was organized by the 10th grade students and Armenian language and literature teacher D. Kirakosyan. The 11th grade students and teachers were also participating in the event.

The 10th grade students briefly presented the life and career of Zohrab, after which they focused on the novel “Zabugho”, which readers remember as a unique book that gives one something to think about. Presenting the content, the students focused on the major questions: Who is Zabugho? Who is the girl he loves? Why didn’t they understand each other until the end? Who was to blame? Who was fair? What was the moral of the novel?

The discussion was so heated and interesting that it had attracted the whole audience. It would have continued for a long time, if the bell hadn’t rung.

The attendees were inspired and satisfied.

Let us add that the lesson/discussion was held as part of the “Our Greats” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
