Explosions in Brussels kill at least 23 and leave many injured

Reuters reports that the two explosions that took place at ZaventemAirport in Brussels killed 13 and left at least 35 injured. According to the preliminary version, the explosions were carried out by a suicide bomber.

According to Yerkirmedia, expressions in Arabic were heard in the airport prior to the explosions. Belgian presses report that the belts of three suicide bombers were found at the scene of the incident.

After the explosions, attacks were also made at the Malbec and Schuman metro stations of Brussels located near the offices of the European Union. Reuters reports that the attacks killed at least 10.

The danger of a terrorist act is currently at the highest level in Belgium. It is reported that the Metro of Brussels has been closed and that the airport has cancelled all flights.

These attacks come after the arrest of Salah Abdeslam, who was one of the major suspects of the terrorist act that took place in Paris last year. He was recently caught and arrested in Brussels.
