Ceremony commemorating the Mikoyan Brothers held in Moscow

A ceremony commemorating the 120th birth anniversary of Anastas Mikoyan and the 110th birth anniversary of Artem Mikoyan was held at the conference hall of “Izvestiya” newspaper’s editorial office, which is located next to Pushkin Square in Moscow, reports Amalya Isayan to Hayern Aysor.
The guests of honor were members of the Mikoyan family, including the sons and daughters, as well as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren (Stepan, Sveta and Ashkhen).
The heads and employees of the organization for MIG military planes, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation, the municipal organization of the Union of Armenians of Russia in Moscow and Shant TV and Russian and Armenian intellectuals showed their active participation with their speeches and congratulatory remarks.
The event began with the screening of a documentary devoted to the Mikoyan Brothers and continued in a warm and direct atmosphere. The brothers’ relatives and close friends shared their interesting memories. There were also many congratulatory remarks and musical performances that stressed the major role and significance that the activities carried out by Soviet state and political figure Anastas Mikoyan and world famous airplane constructor, Colonel General of the Engineering and Technical Service and creator of the MIG military planes Artem (Anushavan) Mikoyan during the difficult years of the Soviet Union.
Many also expressed their words of gratitude to the legendary Armenians, and this first and foremost made the brothers’ compatriots happy and proud.
