On October 27, the city of Aldaia of the Valencia region of Spain officially recognized the Armenian Genocide, becoming the 11th Spanish city to officially call the crime by its name. This is what President of Ararat Armenian Association Ararat Ghukasyan told Hayern Aysor.
The resolution that Ararat Armenian Association of Valencia submitted during the city council’s session was put up for discussion by speaker of the LEFTS UNION Juanjo Llorente. All four political parties represented within the council approved the resolution, condemning Turkey for the crime and criticizing its denial.
Among those attending the session were members of Ararat Armenian Association, as well as friend of the Armenian people and unwavering justice activist Salvador Garcia de la Mota, who donated a Forget-Me-Not pin to the mayor as a sign of gratitude.
Member of Ararat Armenian Association Artak Ohanyan did the same as he pinned the Forget-Me-Not on the chest of Juanjo Llorente, who had submitted the resolution.
