Participant of 2015 “Ari Tun” Program: “I can’t wait to visit Khor Virap Monastery so that I can see Mount Ararat up close”

Mikayel Dallakyan is from Donetsk, Ukraine. Due to the war in Ukraine, he and his family moved to Armenia in 2014.

However, as Mikayel says, he has always visited Armenia every summer and has had a good time. The 14-year-old is interested in Armenian history and wants to learn about the origin of his nation.

The historical and cultural sites in Armenia are close to Mikayel’s heart. He always feels proud whenever he opens the window and sees Mount Ararat in the mornings.

His mother’s friend, who knew about the “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora very well, advised Mikayel to participate in the program. Mikayel also knew that the Ministry of Diaspora was carrying out such a program and was excited about completing his application.

Mikayel says the important thing is that the program will help provide him with another opportunity to learn as much as he can about Armenia and the national values, and he considers this an achievement. He says it was easy to establish ties with his peers. They communicate easily and talk about the customs and traditions of their respective countries of residence.

Mikayel has been touring Armenia through the “Ari Tun” Program for a couple of days now. When asked about his impressions, he said: “I have great impressions. Everything was well organized, and I can’t wait to visit Khor Virap Monastery so that I can see Mount Ararat up close.”
