On July 15, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received editor-in-chief of Nouvelles d’Armenie and co-chair of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France Ara Toranian.

During the meeting, the sides attached importance to the role of media in resisting the challenges facing all Armenians, raising the major issues of national concern, consolidating all Armenians and preserving national unity and identity.

The minister introduced the guest to the functions and programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and informed that among various programs for homeland recognition and Armenian language instruction, the ministry also organizes courses for journalists who not only go sightseeing in Armenia and become familiar with Armenian cultural heritage, but also meet with Armenian government officials, public and cultural figures and establish contacts with representatives of different spheres. As the minister mentioned, such courses help journalists become more familiar with the country and present the issues more impartially.

The sides attached importance to the fact that Armenia is the homeland of all Armenians and that Armenians need to do everything they can to maintain and add to the achievements made in Armenia.
