Hranush Hakobyan: “I admire the Syrian-Armenians’ diligence, dedication and taste”
On March 23, the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO opened the traditional “Breath of Syrian-Armenian Culture in Yerevan” charity exhibition-sale in the vestibule of the Faculty of Armenian Philology of Yerevan State University ahead of Holy Resurrection Day (Easter).
RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan visited the exhibition-sale, toured the vestibule and became familiar with the works of the Syrian-Armenians.
“I admire the Syrian-Armenians’ diligence, dedication and taste. We locals have a lot to learn from them, especially the way they make traditional Armenian dishes. I would like to see citizens make many purchases. Syrian-Armenians have already started opening shoe factories and factories for domestic items and are active in the textile industry,” the Minister told journalists. The Minister also emphasized that there were more Syrian-Armenians participating in this exhibition-sale. Whereas there used to be 10-12 Syrian-Armenians participants in the past, the March 23 exhibition-sale brought together 52 Syrian-Armenians.
The exhibition showcased the handmade works, Easter items, jewels, pastries and Oriental dishes made by over 50 Syrian-Armenians.
The exhibition-sale will continue on March 24 (10:00-18:00).
