16 Armenian students visited the RA Ministry of Diaspora as part of AGBU’s educational, cultural and humanitarian programs
On July 3, 16 Armenian students from the USA, Lebanon, Russia and France visited the RA Ministry of Diaspora. The visit was part of the educational, cultural and humanitarian programs of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU)
The goal of the program is to provide young Armenians of the Diaspora with the opportunity to gain hands-on and professional experience in the Homeland and to help them establish close ties with young Armenians from different parts of the world.
This summer exchange program has been carried out in New York for the past 20 years, in Paris for the past 6 years and was launched in London this year.
RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan met with the Diaspora Armenian students and transmitted Minister Hranush Hakobyan’s welcome speech. “It was our pleasure to host gifted Armenian students last year as well. The RA Ministry of Diaspora is your first landmark in the Homeland,” Srapionyan mentioned.
Srapionyan told the students that, according to the minister, Armenians are those who feel that they’re Armenian. He also mentioned that the RA Ministry of Diaspora would put in all its efforts to make sure the students gain integral and comprehensive knowledge about the national, historical, cultural and spiritual values in the Homeland.
Afterwards, the students watched a video devoted to the programs and activities of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and asked their questions of concern.
Head of the Division for Academic and Educational Programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora Sirvard Hambaryan accompanied the Diaspora Armenian students as they visited the departments and divisions and were introduced to the ministry’s structure and activities.
