Presentation of novel “Without a Homeland: Story of an Armenian from Aleppo” in an Italian city

The events for the commemoration of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide continue in all parts of the world even after April 24th.

According to Varesenews, a cultural event with the title “Armenians Without a Homeland: A Story for Me and You” will be held in the small city of Castiglione Olona, which is located in northern Italy. The event is organized by Castiglione Olona Municipality’s cultural department and the parish of the Virgin Rosaria Church, writes Artsakhpress.

The guest will be Syrian-Armenian writer Cesar Balaban, who is the author of the novel “Without a Homeland: Story of an Armenian from Aleppo”.

Cesar Balaban was born in 1950 in Aleppo to a family of survivors of the Armenian Genocide. He grew up in three cultures. He had an Armenian family, had Arab friends and went to an American school. In 1969, he left for Italy and later moved to the United States of America, but he decided to stay and study to become a surgeon.
