Let Us Help Armenia

The Diaspora Armenians came forward when Armenia was hit with a major Earthquake. They sent generously to help Armenian victims and hundreds of children were brought to USA for treatment. I assure you had it not been for the diaspora, things would have been far worse.
When the Sumgait massa¬cres happened, the refugees from Baku, Sumgeit and Kiro- rovakan filled Karabagh and Armenia. Diaspora came for¬ward and helped generously to the refugees.
When The Azeris attacked Karabagh and the war was going on, Diaspora came for ward again with help, financial, medical and even with military aid I am proud for what we, Diaspora Armenians, did. Somehow whenever 1 think of those days I fee! good that we did our small share.
Now we have another serious problem, Armenians from Armenia are- leaving their homeland, and migrating to other countries. The reason is simple: they can’t find jobs and can’t feed their families. What other choice do they have?
Now for the fourth catastrophic situation, Armenia needs our help again, but this time it is not as difficult as it has been before.
Minister of Diaspora Mrs Hranoush Hakopian proposes that we deposit a small amount in Armenian banks in Yerevan to stimulate the country’s economy. If that is going to provide jobs and stop migration, I hope we take the request seriously and go forward with it.
Sure, there may be some valid criticism in her i proposal, but this is an emergency situation and let us respect the Minister’s request as a PATRIOTIC RESPONSE Let us go forward with it.
P.S. – Diaspora Minister Hranoush Hakopian asks that 1,000,000 Armenians deposit Si,000 in an Armenian bank in Armenia with an interest of 5% to 6% annually which will go j to the depositor and this will stimulate the country’s economy.
