Senators of Argentina’s Entre Ríos to discuss issue of official policy on the Armenian Genocide

Senators of the State of Entre Ríos of Argentina will decide whether the state government will have an official policy on the first genocide of the 20th century or not, writes Inermedia.com, according to armeniangenocide100.org.

The draft law was initially approved by the Chamber of Deputies, but was rejected by Turkish Ambassador to Argentina Taner Karakas.

Next week, the Senate’s General Laws Committee will discuss the draft law, which is related to Law 26.199 and by which April 24th has been declared as the Day of Respect and Tolerance between Nations.

The draft law is a symbolic declarative draft law and isn’t aimed at criminalizing denial.
