Ankara is starting to take adequate steps against certain countries that have viewed the events of 1915 as genocide, report the diplomatic sources of Sabah newspaper, according to armeniangenocide100.org.
Strictly refusing to view the events of 1915 as genocide, Ankara will apply economic sanctions against Austria and Luxembourg, which recognized the Armenian Genocide in April and May of this year.
Turkey had recalled its ambassadors to the Vatican, Austria and Luxembourg after they expressed their positions on 1915 and, according to the newspaper’s sources, the ambassadors will stay in Turkey until September. Ankara also won’t renew its bilateral agreements with the countries that had recognized the Armenian Genocide.
