Aleppo’s Gandzasar Weekly sounds the alarm on the inextricable situation of Syrian-Armenians

Alongside several difficulties in terms of security, Syrian-Armenians, especially Aleppo-Armenians also face serious economic issues.

Aleppo’s Gandzasar Weekly is sounding the alarm on the fact that the Armenians of Aleppo have trouble making a living due to inflation and unemployment. “Due to the relative fall of the Syrian Lira, those wishing to leave Aleppo spend a lot of money to enter Lebanon and then buy a ticket to fly to Armenia. Living in Lebanon also requires a lot of expenses, and staying with relatives is temporary because it’s also hard for the Lebanese to earn a living. Syrian-Armenians living in Armenia have problems with housing, employment and living conditions, especially when there are multi-member families. Syrian-Armenians and especially Aleppo-Armenians are facing difficulties and uncertainty,” writes Gandzasar.
