Procedure for granting Armenian driver licenses to Syrian-Armenians has been simplified

The Government of the Republic of Armenia held today a session moderated by RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

As the press service of the Government reports, 281 valid passports have been provided to foreign states during the first quarter of the year (235 in Syria, 39 in Lebanon and 7 in Iraq) and no state duty has been levied. Continuing its policy on providing assistance to foreign nationals of Armenian descent, the government has compensated the sum of the state duty by allocating nearly AMD 17 million to the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

By another decision, Armenian citizens of the SyrianArabRepublic have the opportunity to obtain a temporary driver’s license of the Republic of Armenia for a one-year period, and in case of passing the exams, obtain an Armenian national driver’s license without exchanging or submitting a Syrian driver’s license.
