5th Conference of Armenian Foreign Language Writers set to kick off
On 11-15 July, 71 writers from Armenia and the Diaspora will participate in the 5th Conference of Armenian Foreign Language Writers called “Globalization and National Identity” at the Writers’ Home in Tsakhkadzor. The event is organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Union of Writers of Armenia.
The event will bring together 38 writers from 16 countries around the world, including the United States, the UK, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Turkey, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Kuwait, Georgia, Russia, France and Canada, as well as 31 writers from Armenia and 2 from Artsakh.
The solemn opening ceremony of the conference will be held on July 12th at 10:30 with welcoming remarks by RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and President of the Union of Writers of Armenia Levon Ananyan. The participants will also be greeted by Vice-President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Vladimir Adayan and AGBU Yerevan Office Director Arpi Vartanian.
The conference will also include a session devoted to William Saroyan, a presentation of Peter Surian’s novel “Miri”, a presentation of books, as well as the showing of Van Pilikyan’s film “Assembly Number Two” and Kinga Kali’s film “Our Father”.
The bus for journalists will be parked in front of the building of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and will leave on July 12th at 9:20 (Address: 26/1 Vazgen Sargsyan St., Erebuni Plaza Business Center).
