Armenian Genocide Centennial commemoration in Dhok

According to Hayern Aysor, Abdul Khalik Sultan wrote the following on www.iraqhurr.org:

“The Armenian Apostolic Church in the Iraqi city of Dhok marked the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, which took the lives of 1.5 million Armenians. On this occasion, spiritual pastor of the Armenian church of Dhok, Father, Priest Massis Shahinian said the following in an interview that he gave to our radio station: “Every year, all Armenian Apostolic Churches commemorate the Armenian Genocide of 1915. And now, 100 years later, we are calling on all countries to recognize the Armenian Genocide, which the UN recognized in the 1980s.”

Armenian representative of the Parliament of Kurdistan Yervand Eminian informed that he had submitted to the Parliament a draft resolution on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

The events included a photo exhibition that showcased all the atrocities that humanity has experienced and is experiencing.

There are more than 3,500 Armenians living in Kurdistan. They are mainly based in Dhok and the nearby areas, including Havrezk and Avzruk. They are also the followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
