Oval park of France’s coastal city named “Armenia 1915-2015”

On April 24, the oval park in the coastal Cavalaire-sur-Mer city of the Var Department of France has been named “Armenia 1915-2015”. Besides French-Armenians, among others attending the solemn ceremony were the mayors of Mer and Le Lavandou, members of the Union of Armenians of Sent Trope Golf and several French friends of the Armenian people, NEWS.am reports.

A couple of hours after the naming of the oval park, Fathers Robert Pambele and Arshen Movsesian of the Catholic and Apostolic Churches performed a Requiem Service for the innocent martyrs of the Armenian Genocide at the Sent Loren Church to the sounds of the choir of the Beaumont Armenian Apostolic Church of Marseilles.

A solemn banquet was held on the occasion of the naming of the park.

For the past couple of years, the tricolor Armenian national flag has been waving at the coast of the Mediterranean and next to the national flags of EU member states in the center of the city in honor of the Armenian community of Cavalaire-sur-Mer, which has an Armenian population of 800.
