About 4,000 participated in Armenian Genocide commemorative event in Marseilles

On the morning of April 24 th, 3­4,000 people participated in the ceremony for the commemoration of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in Marseilles.

As “Armenpress” reports, citing lamarseillaise.fr, the participants wore white shirts with the image of lilies, demanded that Turkey recognize the Armenian Genocide, screamed “Turkish State the Assassin” and waved the Armenian tricolor national flag. The Armenians of Marseilles walked through the Armenian districts and stopped at the church of Beaumont where a statue to Yerevan was placed in 2006. The Armenians recited poems, performed songs and took part in a church ceremony.
