Georgian State Minister on Diaspora Issues hosted at the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On April 22, the Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia received the delegation led by State Minister on Diaspora Issues of Georgia Gela Dumbadze. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili was also participating in the meeting.
Greeting the guests, the minister presented the main principles of Armenia’s state policy on the development of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, as well as the programs of the RA Ministry fo Diaspora devoted to that and the activities that have been carried out. The sides also talked about the issues that are being discussed during the international conference on “International Legal Issues on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide and Liability”, which is being held on the sidelines of the global social-political forum entitled “Against the Crime of Genocide”.
State Minister on Diaspora Issues of Georgia Gela Dumbadze presented the functions of the State Ministry on Diaspora Issues of Georgia, the content and goals of the “Diaspora Day” events that are organized in Batumi every year and invited the minister to participate in the economic forum of the Georgian Diaspora to be held in the fall of 2015. The Georgian State Minister on Diaspora Issues attached importance to the exchange of experiences, as well as further cooperation and the implementation of joint programs.
The members of the Georgian delegation also had meetings with employees of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, were introduced to the Armenia-Diaspora Partnership Conceptual Paper, the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the activities that the ministry has been carrying out for the past couple of years, the peculiarities of the activities carried out by the departments according to regions, as well as the activities carried out with pan-Armenian organizations.
