The canonization of the innocent martyrs of the Armenian Genocide will be held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on April 23. On that day, the martyrs will be canonized in front of the open altar of Holy Etchmiadzin, and representatives of the world’s largest Armenian churches and Armenian communities will be contacted via a live broadcast. The ritual will end at 19:15, after which 100 church bells will ring at the Mother See and all Armenian churches around the world, symbolizing the 100th anniversary. The ringing of the bells will be followed by a moment of silence, the reading of the Lord’s prayer and performances of the song “Surb-Surb” by various choirs in different corners of the globe.
Preparations are underway at the Mother See.
