Event dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Komitas held within the scope of “Our Greats” Program at middle school in Baghramyan village of Ararat province

On Apr. 15, employees of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the regional council of Ararat province and intellectuals participated in a ceremony dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Komitas. The ceremony was held within the scope of the “Our Greats” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora at the middle school in Baghramyan village of Ararat province.

RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan conveyed the welcoming remarks of RA Acting Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan. The event continued with speeches by Deputy Head of Ararat province Ilyich Shadyan and U.S.-based Armenian benefactor Armen Postajian. The school was named after his father, Torgom Postajian.

During the event, the schoolchildren presented episodes from Komitas’s life. The children and students of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory performed the famous songs of Komitas.
