On June 15, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received the delegation led by Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Armenia Christoph Bierwirth, including Head of the Legal Department Inna Borisovich and International Relations Coordinator Anahit Hayrapetyan.

Greeting the guests, Minister Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the support programs that the UNHCR has carried out to solve the issues of Syrian-Armenians and the close collaboration with the Ministry.

The draft of the strategy on national integration of persons displaced and having moved to Armenia as a result of the war in the Middle East was considered during the meeting.

The Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Armenia thoroughly expressed his opinion of the strategy, raised issues and made his recommendations.

He also attached importance to proper presentation of the issues of Syrian-Armenians in the international arena in order to draw the international community’s attention to Armenia.
