Participants of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program visited the Residence of the President of the Republic of Armenia

On July 14, the participants of the Course for Young Leaders and Community Activists and the Training Course for Journalists (part of the 2016 “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora) were hosted at the Residence of the President of the Republic of Armenia where they were received by President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Chief of Staff Vigen Sargsyan.
Vigen Sargsyan presented the activities of the President of the Republic of Armenia and the presidential institution, the functions of the President pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the place and role of the President in the system of public administration, the relations of the head of state with other public administration bodies, as well as the main directions of Armenia’s foreign policy.
At the end, Vigen Sargsyan answered questions from the Diaspora Armenian youth that were mainly related to Armenia’s domestic and foreign policies, as well as the development and strengthening of relations between Armenia and the Diaspora and relations within the Armenian Diaspora.
Afterwards, the participants of the “Diaspora” Summer School Program toured the Presidential Residence and were provided with interesting information about the Residence (when it was built, who the architect was, what the structure of the building is like, what events are held in the halls included in the program of a visit according to protocol, etc.).
At the end, the participants received carriers with photos of the tour and the colors of the Armenian national flag as gifts.
