First Armenian Genocide film in Arabic wins award at New York film festival
“Who Killed the Armenians?”-the first documentary about the Armenian Genocide in Arabic won the Audience Award at the Socially Relevant Film Festival in New York, report the film’s creators to Hayern Aysor. The film’s creators were attending the film festival.
Another Egyptian film called “Before the Spring” also won at the March 15-22 Socially Relevant Film Festival.
The film “Who Killed the Armenians?” is produced by director Muhammad Hanafi and journalist and host Myriam Zaki. The film presents the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Turks 100 years ago through several archival photos and materials, most of which are never-before-seen and affirm the Genocide of 1915. The eyewitness accounts affirm that the Armenian Genocide was previously planned. Shootings took place in Armenia, Egypt and Lebanon.
The first screening of the film was held on November 8, 2015 in Cairo.
