Pyatigorsk and Canada hold teleconference
The Armenian community of Pyatigorsk and Chairman of the Armenian National Congress of Canada, Chairman of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee of Canada Mher Karagashian held a teleconference on April 4.
Among the participants were Chairperson of the Committee on Education and Culture Lyudmila Teryan, teacher of Armenian language and culture at the Armenian Sunday School adjunct to the St. Sargis Armenian Apostolic Church Gohar Tunyan and members of the Armenian youth organization of Pyatigorsk.
The participants of the teleconference discussed and compared the organizing of past and upcoming events ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
The participants particularly touched upon the preservation of Armenian language, identity and national traditions, as well as the problems with resisting assimilation.
