Liturgy on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Warsaw
On April 4, holy liturgy was performed with participation of Archbishop of Warsaw and Metropolitan of All Poland, Sawa Hrycuniak at Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene. Liturgy was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the memory of innocent victims of the Genocide.
Ambassador of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan, the Ambassadors, politicians and public figures, diplomats, representatives of the Armenian community and journalists attended the liturgy.
During the liturgy, Archbishop of Warsaw and Metropolitan of All Poland, Sawa Hrycuniak, commemorating millions of Armenians massacred 100 years ago, requested Ambassador Ghazaryan to convey his solidarity and one on the behalf of Poland’s Orthodox Church with the Armenian people.
Spiritual leader recalled decision of the Bishops’ Council of the Orthodox Church of March 17, 2015, by which after canonization of the victims of the Armenian Genocide that takes place on April 23, 2015, at Etchmiadzin Cathedral, at 19:15 Yerevan time (17:15 Warsaw time), bells of all the Orthodox Churches in Poland will ring.
