Saint Hakob Church in Lyon marks its 50th anniversary
The St. Hakob Armenian Church will be marking its 50th anniversary on June 30th, as reported by the Department of Armenian Communities of Europe of the RA Ministry of Diaspora to “Hayern Aysor”. Construction of the church was launched in 1954 at the initiative of the church committee and through the combined efforts of the Women Builders’ Committee and the youth union of the Armenian Church and was consecrated in 1963. The church also has an Armenian Sunday school.
The St. Hakob Armenian Apostolic Church is located in the heart of Lyon and members of the Armenian community regularly participate in grand events on national holidays.
