40 children of Armenia spending winter vacation in the Netherlands

At the invitation of the Dutch Pax kinderhulp organization, 40 children of socially disadvantaged families of Armenia’s Vardenis and Spitak regions are spending their winter vacation in the Netherlands from the 6th to the 31st of January, as Manuk Mkrtchyan reports to “Hayern Aysor” from Almelo.

On January 11, the Armenian Apostolic Church of Almelo hosted 20 children and teenagers between the ages of 8 and 14 from the Torpavan, Tretak, Arpunk, Shatvan, Pambak, Sotk and Little Masrik villages in the center of Vardenis region.

The meeting was organized by the council of the Church, Homenetmen and the Armenian General Benevolent Union.

In the beginning, the children participated in a Divine Liturgy, after which they took part in games and other events at Calouste Gulbenkian Hall and listened to performances by Dutch singers.

The meeting ended with a banquet, after which the children received several gifts.
