On Thursday, 11th of December of 2014, “The first World War, the end of the Ottoman Empire and the consequences” event was held at the diplomatic academy of Vienna. Completely overlooking the topic of the Armenian Genocide several speakers, including
the ambassador of Turkey, held a presentation about this topic.

As reports Armenpress referring to Armenian National Committee­ International, representatives of the Austrian Armenian Committee for Justice and Democracy addressed the issue emphasizing that the Turkish government not only denies the occurrence of the Armenian Genocide but also exerts pressure on governments that want to acknowledge and recognize this historical fact. Despite the positive reception of other participants of the event, our representative’s questions to the Turkish ambassador about possibilities to resolve this issue remained unanswered and disregarded.
