Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan on working visit to the UK

On November 17, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, who is on a working visit to London, had a meeting with leaders of the British-Armenian Community Council along with RA Ambassador to the UK Armen Sargsyan.
Minister Hranush Hakobyan talked about Armenia’s domestic and foreign policies and issues related to the perspectives of the country’s economic development. During the meeting, the sides discussed the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations, preservation of the Armenian identity, issues related to different sectors of community life and the implementation of joint projects. The sides also touched upon the results of the Armenia-Diaspora Conference held in September 2014 and discussed the preparations ahead of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
Hranush Hakobyan also met with the teachers and principals of Armenian Saturday and Sunday schools of London and discussed issues on the provision of textbooks, teacher training and issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity within the Armenian community.
On the same day, the Minister of Diaspora also met with the leaders of the body of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (Ramgavar) and Tekeyan Cultural Association. During the meeting, the sides attached importance to the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and discussed the preservation of the Armenian language within Armenian communities and the implementation of joint cultural programs.
Views on upcoming programs, especially on possible cooperation in the healthcare sector were exchanged during the meeting with members of the board of AGBU UK.
