100 Concerts: Where will Tigran Hamasyan be touring?
Pianist Tigran Hamasyan, who tours the world and presents Armenian music, is in Armenia once again. The pianist has new songs off his album that he will perform for the Armenian audience during the “Jazz 2796” concert dedicated to Yerevan’s birthday, reports armnewstv.am.
The musician and a trio perform Armenian spiritual songs from the 5th to 20th centuries. The bass guitarist and drummer are non-Armenians, but they are so great that Tigran chose to work with them. Hamasyan says he has trouble classifying his style.
The Guardian has produced a film devoted to Hamasyan, referring to him as the most attractive jazz pianist. It was unusual for the musician to work in front of the camera, and that’s why the film crew would create an environment for him to play.
Hamasyan is getting ready to devote an entire concert series dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide next year with 100 concerts. The musician also wishes to give concerts at Armenian churches of Western Armenia and already has several agreements with organizations that organize concerts in Turkey.
