Wives of Turkish officials praise Armenian jewelers

The wives of Turkey’s primary figures praise the work of Istanbul-Armenian jewelers.
This is what President of the Chamber of Jewelers of Istanbul Norair Ishler, who is of Armenian descent, said in an interview with NEWS.am. According to Ishler, Armenian jewelers regularly take orders for the wives of Turkish officials, including the wives of Recep Tayyib Erdogan and Ahmet Davutoglu, but ex-president Abdullah Gul’s wife, Hairunisa Gul is the one who praises the Armenian jewelers’ work the most. “They treat the Armenians very well,” Ishler added.
Let us note that during one of her speeches a couple of years ago, Gul’s wife announced that her ring was made by Armenian jeweler Sevan Bıçakçi, who is a recipient of prestigious international awards, including the Town and Country Couture Award, which he has received for several consecutive years.
“Bıçakçi is unique, and he’s not the only one. There are nearly 20 Armenian jewelers like him in Istanbul. They make jewelry for special and famous people, but they’re not obsessed with stardom. They are the most average people,” Ishler’s assistant Raffi Ermon Araks said, smiling.
