On October 16, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received world famous model, hostess and Ambassador of the Red Cross Adriana Karembeu, who is in Armenia with her husband, famous French-Armenian businessman from Yerevan Aram Ohanian to become more familiar with Armenia, the country which she supports with her fame, dedication and generosity.

Adriana Karembeu is the godmother for the 2014 Phone-a-Thon hosted by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund France Chapter for the welfare of Armenia and Karabakh.

Greeting the guests, the RA Minister of Diaspora particularly mentioned: “It’s a pleasure to host you at our ministry. I’m happy to see that you are integrating into the Armenian environment. Armenians return to their roots no matter where they may be. I thank you for your charities. I believe that by coming to Armenia, you will love the Homeland and will look at it differently and feel different since you are on the native land.”

During their trip to Armenia, Adriana Karembeu and Aram Ohanian will visit the sites where the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s France Chapter has carried out projects, including the rural economies and the sites with irrigation systems in Tavush province funded by the general council of O-de-Sen. The benefactors will also visit the school in Oshakan, which was built through funding provided by Deputy Rene Ruke and Alforvil Municipality under the leadership of Senator-Mayor Luk Carvounas.

During the visit, the guests will also visit the sites where Aram Ohanian spent his childhood and where his father, Takes Ohanian, enjoyed the glory of being Armenia’s boxing champion in the heavyweight category in the 1950s.

Aram Ohanian was born in Yerevan. Later, he moved to Marseilles and then Marakesh (Morocco). He owns the Jad-Mahal Restaurant-Castle-Hotel Complex in Marakesh and one of the city’s most famous and high-class clubs.
