Armenian cross-stone to be placed in Aktau, Kazakhstan
Under the initiative of President of the Armenian Cultural Center of Aktau in Mangistau region of Kazakhstan Hayrapet Kurdoghlyan, an Armenian cross-stone will be placed for the Armenian community in Aktau city of Kazakhstan ahead of Easter next year.
This is what Hayrapet Kurdoghlyan told “Hayern Aysor”. Kurdoghlyan is in Armenia within the scope of the 5th Armenia-Diaspora Conference.
“There is no Armenian church in Kazakhstan. The only holy place remaining is the old chapel built in 1877. I have informed the spiritual pastor of Kazakhstan about my decision and have received consent from Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Russia and Nor Nakhichevan, Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan. I’ll be taking the cross-stone from Armenia and hope it will be placed by Easter next year,” Hayrapet Kurdoghlyan said.
